The Arizona coaching staff received a Christmas present on Friday night as a three-star wide receiver pledged to the Wildcats.Corona, Calif. WR Austin Hill verbally committed to the Wildcats according to ESPN.com. The 6-3, 190 pounder from Eleanor Roosevelt HS is ESPN’s No. 80 receiver prospect and rated as a 77.
He is a high school teammate of Arizona verbal commit Tyler Slavin.
Hill had offers from ASU, Colorado, Nebraska and others.
Hill is called a “jump ball specialist” by the ESPN.com evaluators.
“Hill is tall, gifted athlete at the receiver position who could become an immediate presence in the redzone at the major college level,” ESPN.com says in his evaluation. “Needs to fill out his longer, high-cut frame but he really knows how to utilize his great height and length to create mismatches.”
As a senior Hill caught 45 passes for 1,160 yards and nine scores. He also rushed for a pair of touchdowns.
Hill was recruited by Arizona assistant Tim Kish and is one of four receivers in the class.
